If you have plantar fasciitis, these shoes are perfect for you. With a Chaco's huarache sandal, your foot will be cushioned with foam and the straps of the shoe will spread out your weight, which is what you need if you have plantar fasciitis.

What Is Plantar Fasciitis?



Plantar fasciitis is a condition in which the thick tissue (plantar fascia) that runs along the bottom of your foot becomes inflamed. It typically develops gradually, but can be precipitated by an acute injury, such as a sprain.



The plantar fascia supports the arch of your foot and connects your heel bone to your toes.



This tissue is subjected to great amounts of pressure throughout all types of physical activity including walking, running or even standing for long periods of time. The plantar fascia can tighten and constrict when overstressed and this leads to pain on the bottom surface of the heel due to inflammation from irritation that it creates.



Signs and Symptoms



To be diagnosed with plantar fasciitis, you must first have pain that occurs on the bottom of the heel.



The pain can be only at night or it can also last for several hours during the day. In addition to this, you might also experience tenderness or sharp pain when you press your foot into a surface such as a pillow.



You might find that walking becomes painful in some areas of your foot when you are fatigued. When severe, this symptom could be from your foot being swollen and/or from chronic inflammation. You may also have mild numbness or tingling along with varying degrees of arch pain in the arch area on both feet.



Causes

The plantar fascia is a large tissue that provides support for the arch of your foot and connects your heel bone to your toes. However, when overused or injured, it can become inflamed and develop into plantar fasciitis.



This usually occurs in people who have high arches (overpronators) or flat feet (underpronators) because their feet are not properly functioning. When walking or running, the plantar fascia pulls on the heel bone and can add to excessive strain.



This is especially true if you have an arch that has lost its natural support. In addition to this, sustained pressure on the bottom of the foot can also cause inflammation in this area
